Waggaroos won the annual Interclub competition against Albury-Wodonga by just 1 point after a 14-10 win in the final event on the Piney Ridge map at Walbundrie last Sunday. Only a small contigent travelled down from Wagga will many regulars away on holidays so good results were critical.

Briohny Seaman, in her first Orienteering outing for almost 3 months, led the way for Waggaroos with a strong win on the 5.7km course in a slick 44:33. Alex Davey was 2nd for Waggaroos 5 minutes behind Briohny. AWOC runners Tony Perrott and Rick Armstrong filled the next 2 places before Debbie Davey grabbed a vital 5th for Waggaroos ahead of Rob Simmons giving Wagga a 13-8 advantage.

Norm McCann won the 4.4km course for AWOC just ahead of Liz Wood but Wes Campbell, although finishing 4th, still scored an invaluable point for Waggaroos. AWOC could only score a 2-1 points win here, giving Waggaroos a 14-10 win on the day and an overall 71-70 win for the year.
