Congratulations to up and coming Waggaroos junior Lachlan Billett who has been selected in the NSW Schools Orienteering Team (The Carbines) to contest the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships in Queensland in September. As well as participating in the three schools championship events (Sprint, Individual and Relay), the team will also compete in the other major events on both weekends of the carnival, including Australian Sprint, Middle and Long Distance Championships and Australian Relays.

Lachlan only really became serious about Orienteering this year and has traveled with his family to many events, including Easter 3 days in Canberra, in an effort to gain valuable competition experience and he has been rewarded with this selection. Lachlan is the first Waggaroo to gain Schools team selection for many years but he continues a strong tradition that has seen several current and ex-Waggaroos eventually go on to represent Australia.
